ABOUT

District 48

Lying on the banks of the Bayou Teche, Louisiana House of Representatives District 48 is composed of parts of Iberia, Lafayette and St Martin Parishes. The more populated communities residing in District 48 include New Iberia, Loreauville, Coteau, Youngsville and Broussard.

A proud representative of Cajun Country, Beau carries the area’s conservative values to Baton Rouge.

The District 48 area is primarily composed of rural residential areas, farmland sugarcane fields, marshes and bayous near the neighboring Gulf Coast.

The areas boast of industry surrounding agriculture, petroleum, and tourism. A large portion of the district contains the energy service corridor of LA Hwy 90. Just outside of the district’s borders resides the Port of Iberia and Acadiana Regional Airport; local hubs of commerce and industry.
